Nexus234 has grown around a regional airport with an active role in aviation advancement and a strong defense community that includes companies like BAE Systems, Lockheed Martin, Boeing, and General Dynamics. Companies operating in the district include Micron Technology, one of the few U.S. manufacturers producing domestically fabricated memory for national security applications, as well as other electronics producers. George Mason’s Nanofabrication Facility with a class 1000 clean room for discovery and prototype development, a statewide semiconductor network, and a growing supplier base, enable advanced memory and specialty electronics manufacturing.
